Technical Sales Advisor

Our client is looking for Technical Sales Advisor to join their vibrant office. If you enjoy working as part of a team in a fun, high paced environment with great opportunities for career progression then we want to hear from you.


Reporting to:                     Operations Manager

Location:                             Kettering

Key Role:                             Achieve set targets for order intake whilst providing 1st class project management and customer service.

General:                              This is a fast paced and diverse role requiring a flexible, hands-on approach to ensure customers are provided with unrivalled service by knowledgeable, professional and friendly members of the team.


A summary of the main responsibilities:

  • Effectively develop your sales area by proactively targeting market sectors, key customers, upcoming opportunities & significant postcodes
  • Negotiate and close sales by following up all quotations and new business leads with key decision makers such as architects, quantity surveyors, local authorities, building contractors and end users.
  • Follow up all projects in a timely manner, using effective project manage to secure specification and/or order.
  • Provide efficient, knowledgeable & effective customer service to secure maximum business opportunities & encourage repeat business by developing relationships with all customer groups.
  • Effectively develop your area through proactive, focussed new business and efficient management of new leads.
  • Offer technical advice and information to our customers as required
  • Preparing various monthly, weekly or daily sales analysis to identify new opportunities.

Pace of work is fast to ensure customer deadlines are met.  It will be necessary to carry out other tasks, in addition to the above, to ensure the smooth running of the business.

  • Ability to build rapport quickly and establish trust with existing and new clients
  • Ability to work in a structured way, independently and as a team member to   achieve targets and deadlines
  • Strong administrative, planning and organisational skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook
