Job Title:             Senior Warehouse Operative

Reports to:         Warehouse Supervisor

 

Profile

The Senior Warehouse Operative is to act as a first point of escalation for minor and trivial investigations and is also responsible for ensuring any stock movements are recorded correctly, both in and out, in line with daily deadlines.  The Senior Warehouse Operative will carry out necessary checks and investigations, escalating when needed as per company policy and procedures. Performing warehouse inventory checks and tasks by undertaking rolling stock takes.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a first point of escalation for problems from operatives ensuring any further actions required are carried out in line with company procedure and policy
  • Monitor productivity and report any shortfalls in personnel or procedure to the Warehouse Supervisor
  • Ensure the security of the warehouse and its assets in the absence of the warehouse supervisor
  • Ensure all products in the warehouse is clearly and uniquely identifiable and is segregated into Allocated Stock, Returns, Quarantine, and other areas as necessary
  • To ensure all equipment/product is located and relocated correctly and that stores are kept clean and tidy, ensuring exits and fork truck roadways are clear
  • To ensure all equipment/product is properly stored to prevent damage and in accordance with Insurance requirements
  • To ensure company, local and international legislations are followed with regards to storage and shipping any items to and from the warehouse
  • Fully investigate goods received with queries and requiring escalation are done in the correct manner
  • To load/unload vehicles, assist with cleaning etc.
  • Maintain the correct use of space to maximise efficiency
  • To ensure that all incoming new product and outgoing products/equipment are received in correct quantity, quality and part/ number with necessary ancillaries and paperwork is checked and completed
  • To liaise with couriers both locally and internationally to secure best service in relation to price, time of collection, efficiency, and managing the online offering from the couriers
  • Deal with any reasonable requests from other departments
  • Highlight any need for retraining in yourself or others using the correct channels
  • To continuously manage the inventory, track movements of products in/out of the Warehouse
  • To ensure the cleanliness and security of the entire work environment
  • Undertake any other ad hoc duties as required, which are deemed necessary to assist with the needs of the company

Skills & Experience

  • A knowledge of and interest in IT Supplies and Solutions
  • Holder of a full UK driving license 
  • Holder of a Forklift license (desirable)
  • Good numeracy and IT skills, particularly spread sheets and databases
  • Strong verbal and excellent written communication skills
  • Literate and numerate to a good standard
  • Effective personal organisation and planning
  • Effective communication skills
  • IT Literate in relevant packages for role including in-house packages
  • Logical and analytical approach
  • Basic maintenance and DIY/Assembly skills
