Job Overview:

Legal Counsel

Reporting to and working closely with the Senior Legal Counsel EMEA and working closely with the wider regional legal team based in Asia and the US, the incoming Legal Counsel will be joining a lively and ambitious international team advising on legal and compliance matters affecting the business

The candidate will be required to develop a good understanding of the relevant laws and regulations and commercial risks facing the business and be an effective business partner.

  • Provide commercially focused, solution oriented and accurate legal advice to all brands in line with each brand’s strategic and commercial aims as well as general industry trends.
  • Advising all business units on a broad variety of commercial work including commercial contracts, consumer law, corporate/M&A, outsourcings, commercial property, intellectual property, litigation, IT, data protection, regulatory and ethics compliance;
  • Drafting, maintaining and updating standard contracts and T&C’s, including website terms and business to business contracts.
  • Advising on marketing matters, competitions and sales promotions.
  • Training internal business teams on legal and compliance issues;
  • Assessing and mitigating risks related to legal issues.
  • Assisting Senior Legal Counsel with government relations function; responding to government consultations, building relationships with relevant trade bodies, alerting business to upcoming regulatory updates.
  • Supporting Senior Legal Counsel on other general corporate activity, including JVs, re-organisations and internal governance (approvals).
  • Working on corporate and company secretarial aspects, including conducting group restructures, liquidations, companies house filings, etc., if required
  • Liaising with external counsel where required


Internally: All levels of management and staff in offices located throughout EMEA & APAC and the U.S.

Externally: Legal firms, Consulting firms, Regulators, Trade associations and Government bodies (where appropriate)

  • Personal Presentation – to behave in a confident, professional and friendly manner with the ability to express ideas clearly and with confidence to appropriate levels within the organisation.
  • Personal Organisation and Work Style - Ability to work to deadlines at short notice and to work well under pressure to effectively manage own workload. Must be resilient, have a systematic and logical approach to problem solving and an eye for detail in research, collation and analysis of information.
  • Communication skills - Ability to communicate effectively and deal with queries in a highly professional manner. Prepare and present to colleagues.  Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Initiative and Involvement - Willingness to learn and do the job well. Ideas and suggestions for improvement confidently given. Will be required to build a good working knowledge of Panorama brands and business models.
  • Adaptability - Ability to maintain effectiveness in changing environments or in the face of conflicting priorities.
  • Team player – collaborative, approachable and willing to share responsibility to actively contribute to tasks, goals and projects across the business.  Embraces team working and enjoys working closely with others to achieve success as a legal team.


Solicitor with 3-5 years PQE preferably gained in either the corporate/commercial department of a reputable law firm or in-house legal team. 



  • Pragmatic and solution focused

  • Good knowledge of contract and company law

  • Ability to work efficiently in a small team

  • Excellent drafting and legal research skills


  • Knowledge/ experience of the travel or leisure and hospitality sector

  • Litigation experience

  • M&A experience

  • Experience with company secretarial matters


Willingness to work flexible hours when required and possibility of international travel may be required.
