Category Assistant

12 month FTC

If you love being busy and problem solving this could be the opportunity you’ve been looking for. You will be assisting in the management of an assigned range of products with the specification, pricing and launch / product support to the depot network.

You will need to be an excellent communicator at all levels and are able to prioritise effectively as you’ll be working on multiple projects with differing deadlines. You will also need to possess strong administrative / data entry skills with absolute accuracy and attention to detail in mind.

Heightened EXCEL skills are imperative for this position and there may be a test at interview stage.

To succeed in this role it is essential that you thrive in a fast paced environment, have a flexible / adaptable attitude and are a true team player.

Based in Northampton initially and will be relocating to new purpose-built offices in Raunds in early 2020, this role would suit someone with experience in a similar role or someone who has just completed university or college, and looking for their first graduate role in a fast paced, market leading company.

Key Accountabilities

  • Creating and maintaining all commercial data including SAP, K8, STEP to include commodity codes, dimensions, packaging weights
  • Project Management across NPI and Sourcing activities
  • Creation and communication of product information to depots
  • Proofing of marketing materials including brochure, website etc.
  • Responding to depot calls and queries in a realistic timeframe, including tracking/reporting the solutions to these queries
  • Maintaining and updating purchasing data
  • Prepping for price uploads and changes
  • Price benchmarking and recommendation to the Buyers
  • Ensuring all data and reporting exists and is available to allow accurate decisions to be made at the right time
  • Preparation for Exec/Regional Manager meetings including displays/boards and information packs
  • Support with the analysis of commercial data for the Buyer/Trading Manager against briefs

Skills & Experience

  • The ability to work within a fast paced commercial environment
  • Organised and able to multi task and maintain accuracy
  • Managing multiple projects at any one time
  • Ability to effectively communicate at any level
  • Accuracy of data entry with acute attention to detail
  • Self-starter and team player who understands the importance of supporting the depots
  • Flexible attitude
